Hospitality Veteran Brings 28 Years of Experience to New Position
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Nov. 9, 2007 – John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts announces that Paul Francisco has been named regional vice president, with responsibilities for operational oversight for approximately 15 percent of the company’s growing portfolio of properties. As regional vice president, Francisco will oversee the operational integrity of the hotels, as well as any spas, golf courses and convention or conference centers, in his region of responsibility, which stretches from South Dakota to West Virginia to Texas. He will ensure compliance with all standards, policies and procedures for the human resources, sales and marketing, food and beverage and maintenance functions, and will be responsible for overall profitability for the hotels in his area.

Prior to joining John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, Francisco served as senior vice president of operations for Shaner Hotels. He led the portfolio of the more than 50 hotels and TGI Friday’s restaurants operated by Shaner, while also overseeing the management of various civic and conference facilities. During his tenure as senior vice president, Francisco provided oversight for the company’s sales, marketing, revenue management, food and beverage, national accounts and human resources departments.
While at Shaner, Francisco provided management of Conference Services for the University of Delaware on three campuses and also for the Marriott Courtyard, which served as the host for the University’s practicum course for its Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) students. He also has been a guest speaker for the HRIM program at Pennsylvania State University.
