Embassy Suites Murfreesboro – Hotel & Conference Center Set for September Opening MURFREESBORO, TN, – June 17, 2008 – Embassy Suites Murfreesboro – Hotel & Conference Center will open September 15, 2008.
The hotel and conference center will be one of the largest facilities of its kind, featuring 10 stories with 283 suites, as well at 43,325 square feet of meeting and event space.
“We believe this hotel meets a need that has not yet been met in this market,” said David Latture, general manager. “Murfreesboro is a rapidly growing community and it can now accommodate groups that previously had to settle for a location that could not offer the convenience this hotel offers. It is rare to have a luxury all-suite hotel with this much meeting space in a location that is this accessible.”
The all-suite, luxury hotel and conference center will have the largest convention space in the Greater Nashville market outside of Davidson County. The hotel and conference center will be able to accommodate large and small group meetings, weddings and family reunions, special events and shows, as well as individual business travelers and leisure stays. Its 28,800 square foot ballroom is the third largest in the Greater Nashville market, behind only Gaylord Opryland Hotel’s Delta Ballroom and Presidential Ballroom. Embassy Suites Murfreesboro – Hotel & Conference Center is owned and managed by John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, the nation’s leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suite properties.
“It’s exciting to announce our September opening date, because this is a much-anticipated milestone for Murfreesboro and all of Rutherford County,” said Latture. “We know this property will be Murfreesboro’s convention center and luxury hotel and we want everyone to know that it has been our passion from day one to exceed their expectations.”
The hotel will create an estimated 225 full-time equivalent jobs and contribute $23 million in revenue to the Rutherford County economy annually, according to projections using an American Hotel & Lodging Association formula.
“We have already booked a considerable number of events and conferences, and we continue to receive inquiries about the hotel and meeting space on a daily basis, which validates our approach,” says Becky Vealey, director of sales and marketing. “In addition, local residents are coming to us to book weekend stays as getaways from the day-to-day.”
The hotel is strategically located near SR-840 in the southeast quadrant of I-24 and Medical Center Parkway and will be adjacent to the new lifestyle center, “The Avenue Murfreesboro.” A joint venture between Faison & Associates and Cousins Properties, the lifestyle center features nearly one million square feet of restaurant, home furnishings and fashion shopping in an open air setting.
