Hammons’ new nine-story, 228-room/suite Courtyard by Marriott Dallas – Allen at the John Q. Hammons Center in Texas

ALLEN (DALLAS), Texas, and SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – January 12, 2010 – As the official hotel of the Allen Americans Central Hockey League club, John Q. Hammons’ new Courtyard by Marriott® Dallas – Allen at the John Q. Hammons Center in Allen, Texas, near Dallas welcomed Steve Duchesne, Allen Americans’ owner/president and Stanley Cup champion, and his family as the first guests of the nine-story, 228-room/suite hotel, now open for business.

Area residents and representatives from city and business organizations joined Mayor Stephen Terrell, city of Allen, and executives from John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, Crossland Construction, and The Village at Allen in debuting the area’s newest quality hotel accommodations and largest meeting venue with 30,000 gross square feet of conference space.

A grand opening ticketed gala at the hotel is slated for January 23, 2010, benefiting community programs through the Allen Arts Alliance. Expected to draw more than 500 attendees, the formal event will serve as the Allen Arts Alliance’s annual fund raiser.

“We’ve been thoroughly welcomed by the Allen and Collin County communities since plans to develop the hotel and conference center complex,” said General Manager Michael Kapoulis, a 15-year company veteran. “More than 1,000 candidates showed interest in being a part of our hospitality team, and most of our nearly 100 employees are from the Allen area.”

John Q.
