Top-to-Bottom Renovations Create Modern, Spacious Areas Atriums Are Focal Point for Guests to Relax, Socialize and Stay Connected
SPRINGFIELD, MO (March 16, 2011) – John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts has completed $20.5 million in renovations to three of the company’s award-winning hotels, part of the hotel ownership and management group’s multi-year strategy to create the most modern, spacious and comfortable hotels in each market served.
The project completely refreshed the Holiday Inn Northwest Arkansas in Springdale, Arkansas, the Embassy Suites Greensboro-Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina, and the Embassy Suites Kansas City – International Airport in Kansas City, Missouri. Each renovation modernized the hotel’s guest rooms, suites and bathrooms and redesigned the public space and restaurant, and upgraded meeting and convention space. The modernization of the Holiday Inn Northwest Arkansas is also part of the Holiday Inn brand’s $1 billion global refresh project.
“The newly renovated guest rooms, suites and meeting facilities at these properties are each the largest in their markets, uniquely positioning these hotels to serve transient and group business,” said Jacquie Dowdy, CEO of John Q. “Guests will find contemporary guest rooms and suites with completely updated bathrooms, and redesigned in-room work areas,” said Phill Burgess, Vice President of Sales and Revenue Management. “Guest rooms and suites feature 37-inch flat screen TVs equipped with cable/satellite, in-room pay-per-view movies and in-room check-out. Also our guests will find high-speed wireless Internet access throughout the hotel.”
The renovations also refreshed the hotels’ atriums, a signature of the John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts brand, turning the atriums into focal points for guests to socialize, relax and stay connected. At each property the lobby, pool, business and fitness centers have also been fully renovated, including the addition of state-of-the-art Precor® Fitness exercise equipment.
