Jacqueline Dowdy – Chief Executive Officer

The leader of our executive management team, Jacqueline A. Dowdy, has many years of unique experience in the hospitality industry, having worked with John Q. Hammons in various capacities since 1972. Ms. Dowdy is responsible for the overall performance of the company, shaping its future direction with the rest of the management team, and the fulfillment of Mr. Hammons’ mission to provide superior lodging and exceptional service to the traveling public. Ms. Dowdy focuses on upholding the John Q. Hammons legacy of quality, efficiency and profitability to ensure each property’s bottom line contributes to the company’s continued success.

 Joe Morrissey – Senior Vice President of Operations

As the Senior Vice President of Operations for the company, Joe Morrissey is responsible for maximizing the returns of each property under management, through a commitment to product quality, the management of our talented hotel associates, and operational efficiencies. Mr. Morrissey has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and utilizes his abilities to analyze and guide all phases of hotel operations, to ensure that John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts retains its reputation for excellence in the hospitality industry. Mr. Morrissey joined the company in 1999.

Greggory Groves – Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Greggory Groves is General Counsel for John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts. His responsibilities include real estate and financing transactions, hotel development activities, acquisitions/dispositions, operational compliance of hotel and corporate legal entities, contracts management, franchise licensing documentation and compliance, human resources, and oversight of claims and litigation involving the company.

Christopher Smith – Senior Vice President of Administration & Control

Christopher Smith contributes to the company’s overall success through conscientious oversight of the internal audit, accounting, procurement, and information technology departments. Mr. Smith’s expertise in risk management ensures hotels and corporate facilities are properly protected through asset insurance, monitoring PCI compliance and other operational risk factors to further enhance the company’s overall profitability. Mr. Smith joined the company in 1987.

Phill Burgess – Vice President of Sales and Revenue Optimization

Phill Burgess leads the company’s efforts in sales and revenue optimization, creating innovative new approaches for capturing market share and growing the company’s revenue potential. His extensive experience in all areas of the hospitality industry and hotel management affords him a unique perspective of each market in which our hotels compete in order to formulate the appropriate sales and marketing thrust for each hotel.

Kent Foster – Vice President of Human Resources

Kent Foster’s role as Vice President of Human Resources includes acquiring and retaining the exceptional talent that is the backbone of John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts. With more than two decades’ experience in human resources management, Mr. Foster oversees the company’s HR policies, benefits and compensation packages and seeks to ensure that every current and future associate has a great experience with the company.

Bill George – Vice President of Capital Planning and Asset Management

As John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts’ (JQH) vice president of capital planning and asset management, Bill George is responsible for leading and managing the execution of capital projects, hotel level engineering, and interior design. George ensures JQH’s properties represent the best of the best of brand standards for each franchise the award-winning company represents. He brings nearly 40 years’ experience in design and construction to JQH, where he recently returned. His expertise spans hospitality projects for both top franchisor brands, such as Embassy Suites by Hilton, and hotel ownership groups, such as JQH, where he spent 13 years. Most recently, he was vice president of design and construction for Chatham Lodging Trust in Palm Beach, Fla. His career also includes work with Sage Hospitality in Denver, where he was vice president of capital projects.

Rick Beran – Vice President of Food & Beverage

As the Vice President of Food and Beverage, Rick Beren will help deliver Mr. Hammons legacy of optimizing service standards, delivering top and bottom line performance, and maximizing the value of our food and beverage outlets that include 1,744,000 sq. ft. of meeting space in the JQH owned properties.

In Rick’s 21 years of service  with John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, he has lead or participated on multiple task-force team assignments and assisted in the opening of 25 properties. Rick’s unique background, knowledge of our company, and service make him an exceptional fit for this new role.

Patrick Blache – Vice President, Information Technology

Patrick strategically directs JQH IT at the corporate and portfolio levels leveraging cutting-edge technologies and strategies to ensure we deliver optimal technology service levels for our properties, guests and associates.

Patrick is an accomplished Information Technology management professional with over 18 years of comprehensive experience in a multi-site, multi-host, networked environment. He is highly knowledgeable in all IT areas as well as business principles and processes. Patrick is an understanding, innovative individual who has an excellent sense of teamwork to get results by instilling commitment, trust, fairness, and loyalty. Patrick oversees planning, organization, security and execution of all IT functions for the company. Most recently, Blache served as Director of Technical Services for Catholic Health Initiatives in Denver.
